There is currently one nutrition related Action Alerts for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives:

  • The federal government faces a potential shutdown unless a funding agreement is reached before March 14, 2025. Additionally, key health programs such as Medicare telehealth waivers, community health center funding, the Special Diabetes Program, and other vital health extenders will expire or face funding lapses on March 31, 2025, without congressional action. Two bills that would facilitate the interstate practice of dietetics (compact licensure) have been filed in the Mississippi 2025 Legislative Session: Senate Bill , filed by Sen. Chuck Younger, and House Bill, filed by Rep. Becky Currie.

Please help us increase support for these measures by contacting your Mississippi Senator and Mississippi Representative. If you would like help finding your local senator and local representative, please visit Open States. This link takes you to a resource website where you can enter in your address to find out what Congressional, State House, and State Senate districts you reside in, as well as who represents those districts. Remember, this bill is in the Mississippi legislature, so you’ll want to contact your State House of Representatives member and your State Senator (not the people who represent us on a national level)

Check back soon for sample letters that you can use to base your letter of support on.
