Now Accepting Applications for Academy’s Spokesperson Program
The Academy is seeking outgoing, knowledgeable registered dietitian nutritionists with experience working with the news media to apply to join the Academy’s Spokesperson Program. Members who have been RDNs for more than five years and have at least two years of media experience are encouraged to apply. Numerous topic areas and geographical markets are available. The application deadline is February 2, 2018.

Membership Outreach Grants Available
Affiliates, DPGs and MIGs are encouraged to create events that focus on reaching one of three potential member groups: DPD graduates not pursuing an internship, those in allied health professions or practicing dietetics internationally, and those with advanced degrees in food, nutrition and/or dietetics. Submit National Honors and Awards Nominations
Do you know an outstanding role model who has advanced the nutrition and dietetics profession, exhibited leadership and shown devotion to serving others in both dietetics and allied fields? If so, recognize their contributions by nominating them for an Academy National Award. Submit an intent to nominate and then complete the full online nomination by March 1, 2018. Award recipients will be announced in May 2018 and recognized at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ 2018 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C.

ACEND Update
The January Standards Update is posted on the ACEND webpage. In this issue there is an explanation of the Future Education Model Demonstration Program Research Logic Model and its purpose.
Beginning on January 17, 2018, the monthly Virtual Town Hall meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month at 3 PM Central Time. The town hall provides a time for ACEND to share updates on its standards work and for stakeholders to ask questions. CDR Updates
CDR Accredited Provider Program
CDR is in the process of revising the Accredited Provider Program Standards. Beginning June 1, 2018, State Affiliates who are currently Accredited Providers of CDR will be required to pay the annual Maintenance Fee of $300. Any State Affiliate who wishes to apply to become an Accredited Provider will be required to pay the $500 Application fee as well as the annual maintenance fee of $300.
