GCAND T-Shirt Available

We have a new GCAND t-shirt available for sale! What a great way to show your passion for our profession, our beautiful location, and your support for our local chapter. Additionally, $5 from every shirt sale will be used to benefit our local community. Please send the order form to [email protected]

On behalf of the GCAND Board, we are excited to announce that the proceeds from our t-shirt fundraiser will be donated to “Our Daily Bread” soup kitchen in Pascagoula. We feel this is a great charity serving those in need on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

If you would like to further help this organization, GCAND members will have the opportunity to volunteer at the soup kitchen from 11:30-12:30 on April 29th, when we will present them with the money raised through T-shirt sales.

Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you there!

Graduate Student Survey – Please Help Out and Respond!

Health professionals have the ability to influence and encourage patients or clients to make healthier choices. A graduate student in the Department of Nutrition and Food Systems is conducting a study to assess relationships between consumers and health professionals’ views of nutrition messages, particularly focusing on “clean eating.” This project will fulfill the requirements of a Master’s research project. If you are a health professional such as a medical doctor, nurse, registered dietitian, health coach, personal trainer, etc. in Mississippi, please take a minute to complete the short survey attached. It should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes. After you complete the survey, feel free to forward to fellow health professionals as well. Your response is greatly appreciated! This project has been approved by the USM Institutional Review Board For questions, contact Rachel Calhoun, BS, RD at [email protected] or my research advisor Holly Huye, PhD, RD at [email protected]
